When it comes to salvation and who will ascend to God's holy hill the Biblical teaching of scripture is that only the elect will be saved, that is, those chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world.
"According as he hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love." (Eph. 1:4)
This is God's sovereign choice by His sovereign grace. You don't determine your election just as Jacob didn't determine his own election but the LORD said (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of Him that calleth;)
Who did the LORD effectually call?
The answer is "Jacob have I loved; Esau have I hated" vs 13 God's eternal decree determines who will and who will not be saved. Those not chosen are thus left to their own way AND what is the end of that way?
"For there is a way that seems right to a man but the end thereof are the ways of DEATH." (Pro. 16:25)
The reprobate will never be able to blame God for their damnation because they were not chosen in Christ but their own sin of unbelief will condemn them "for the WAGES of SIN is DEATH but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Rom. 6:23)
He that believeth is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, BECAUSE he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:18)
The LORD said unto Moses: "I will have mercy upon whom I will have mercy..." So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy." (Rom. 9:16)
Now if God chooses to have mercy on some sinners and not on others what is that to thee?
Do what you can to diligently beseech the Lord for His mercy and seek the Lord by any means you can (prayer, scripture meditation, confession, hearing faithful preaching) while you have physical life and if you can not seek the Lord then you are like the man who claimed he could not see because he plucked out his own eyes.
