I wonder how Peter and the other disciples must have felt when Jesus Christ was taken up from heaven away from them? (See Acts1). There goes Jesus Christ leaving them alone to fend for themselves in a changing world and  a new life they did not quite understood just yet.

 For most of us it is like that. When we become face to face with our giants in life we look at Jesus Christ for answers, looking up at the heavens wishing that He will come to intervene when we need it most.There is absolutely nothing wrong for looking answers at the feet of Jesus Christ when we are in times of trouble.

 The trouble comes in when we look so far up in the clouds that we miss out on the answered prayer when it stand before us. Jesus Christ promises His disciples that the Heavenly Father will send the gift of the Holy Spirit to them with the instruction to wait at Jerusalem in order to receive the Holy Spirit.

 After Jesus was taken away the disciples stood there with so much longing in their faces that two men from heaven had to be sent to woke them from their longing:

 “They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee, they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? The same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go to heaven.” Acts 1:10-11 NIV

 The same way we ought not to look at the sky but to follow the guidelines of the Spirit when comes to seeking solutions for our lives. The answer might not be what we want to hear, but it is the best one God has for us and the people involved in our lives. Imagine if the disciples remained on the same spot for days.

They never would have receive the Holy Spirit and in this way the world would not have been impacted by them. Therefore we need to acknowledge the instructions of the Spirit when we asked for an answer and we receive it. Even if it is not something we do not always like to hear and do.

 Otherwise we will bark up the wrong tree in searching for the solutions we need in places that was not God’s solution in the first place. This type of action has dire consequences for us and the people involved in our lives.

 Let us therefore consider our actions and choices when comes to receiving solutions from heaven. We need to understand that life is a journey and that this journey has no instant solutions. So if God takes you on a journey, walk it , for then you and everyone involved will benefit from your obedience in the long run.
