The lions and the lambs....simply coexist in a life,
Natural opposing entities...as are good and evil.
The lions and the lambs, sometimes accomodate each other as both strive for acceptance.
They do not lie down together.....but they shall!

The lions will be the lions....huge, powerful and filled with purpose and resolve to rule.
The lambs....as vital....but without the foreboding presence, provide a balance.
The lions will ALWAYS be lions.....
The lambs are FOREVER.....lambs.

Power and meekness cross paths only in controversy until touched
By the Might that settles ALL issues.
Both will bow to the Supremacy of the anointed Deity that created them.
Both will lose their distinctive identities when the Master declares it so.
The lions threatening presence will be no more.
The meekness of the lamb will no more mark him as the quarry.

In shady green pastures and beside still streams
The lions and the lambs will be as friends.
The lion is still a lion.....the lamb is still a lamb,
But in the Presence....and at the bidding of the Master, they walk together......they lie together in peace.

This transformation can and MUST occur....not only in the eternity to come, but in that segment of eternity in which we NOW WALK.
TODAY the lions can lie down with the lambs. TODAY there can be God's abiding peace in the valleys of the present.

Today the issues of life....those which are constructive and those destructive can answer to the touch of the Master and the heart can be calmed.

The lions are STILL lions.....the lambs are STILL lambs, but God has entered the mix and there IS peace!
The lambs fear of its natural enemy will vanishand the lions tendency to dominate will be stilled.

As the Father will one day cause the beasts to be in peace, so must individuals place before Him, the strengths and weaknesses.....the potentials and the vulnerabilities of our humanity so that His transforing creativity can do its work. So that as we go, the lions and the lambs can.....remain lions and lambs without overwhelming or swamping our frail craft.

Supplying us and upholding us with the comfort of His abiding peace.
