Week 1 Day 5 Dangers of Pride
THE SUREST WAY TO COMING DOWN IN LIFE IS THROUGH PRIDE.
The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? Daniel 4:30


The reason for the fall of Satan as seen from Biblical accounts is pride. Throughout the Bible, the surest way God promises to bring down his people is when pride takes hold of our heart. Nebuchadnezzar was no different, after his dominion had reached the ends of the earth and his greatness was evident for all to see, he was overcome with pride and made that famous statement in Daniel 4:30. God had warned him prior to this but he didn’t listen. Pride in this life is revealed in the attitude that proclaims, “I am a self made man.” Whenever you come to the conclusion that all your accomplishments are solely based on your effort but not the grace of God, you have indeed transcended into the realms of pride. The consequence of pride for Nebuchadnezzar was outright demotion and this is the same for Christians today. The word of God clearly indicates that every good and perfect gift is from above. All our achievements are as a result of the grace of God. Let us not live life as if we are our own doing. The Christian life must be that of humility in walking according to the grace of God at work in our lives. Let us always have a thankful and gracious heart for how far God has brought us. Amen

Dear Father Lord, I thank you for your grace upon my life. I am grateful for your abundant gifts you have showered upon my life and how far you have brought me. I know that I have overcome the world because greater is he that is me than he that is in the world. I will bless your name forever, In Jesus Name. Amen.
