Who knows which way the tides will run
or which way the winds will blow
For nobody knows what each day holds
or what picture it will show

The best we can do is welcome the sun
or whatever day God's sends to us
And just keep a prayer on the inside
and rely on his word to trust

For it won't be raining all the time
nor will it always be a cloudy day
And very soon the winds will blow on by
if we believe what God did say

That weeping may endure for a night
but joy cometh in the morning
And I take him at each word of promise
and to me it is so adoring

God protects his interest all the time
he preserves his word in you and me
also he shields us from every evil force
that's trying to destroy his tree

So If I say, woe is me!
it's only a few words at that time
For I do know who holds tomorrow
that is Jesus, the true vine
