Power of Vision
I believe the enemy of corporate success is the dependence on sight rather than vision. The power of vision is one of the greatest blessings bestowed on humankind. Unity prevails when people hold on to a collective vision. Among the various kinds of creatures on earth, only man has the capacity to see beyond the limitations of his sight and actualize those dreams. Vision is what has kept society evolving for thousands of years. Think about how life would have been 5000 years ago. A society without electricity, internet, high speed trains, airplanes, space programs etc. and try to mull over how life shall be 2000 years from the 21st century should Jesus delay his second coming. Can you imagine human beings colonizing another planet in the near future? If it is difficult to imagine this, then you might as well spend more time exercising the power of your imagination. The key to meeting societal challenges 500 years from today lies with visionary men. Any level of success that transcends a generation is borne on the wings of vision. The enduring drive of success lies in vision.
Have you ever heard the expression, “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it?”That phrase undoubtedly was coined by some people who had trouble seeing the final picture. The greatest architectural feats in the world were built by people who “crossed bridges” in their minds long before anyone else did. They were built by people who saw the possible in their minds and moved to accomplish it. The only way to break new ground or move into uncharted territory is to look beyond the immediate and see the big picture. It is to move beyond the limitations to see the possibilities. These people knew that the person who cannot see the big picture is a slave to the immediate.
--------------------
“Vision is the capacity to see beyond the limitations of the eye. We must always challenge ourselves to create that mental picture of what and where we want to get to.”
-------------------
This concept is a replica of what we see happening today all around us. We envision our dream cars, homes, professions, families and these pictures are posted on our walls in our rooms at a very young age. Sometimes, from infancy, parents paint some of these pictures in the rooms of their children. This is to help stimulate and activate the imaginative power of these children. This is to help the children dream, to encourage them see the world of possibilities and to inspire them to rise to the challenge and come to the moment when all those pictures become their reality. How far you can see is an indication of how much you are prepared to receive. No wonder God said in Ephesians 3:20, now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. God requires us to use our mouths to ask and our minds to imagine and see. Our inability to ask for so much as we really desire is a reflection of the limitation in the use of our imaginative prowess, therefore the need to continuously exercise our mind to craft our desires and bring to pass our dreams.
