Starting Small Has Its Benefits

Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would increase abundantly.

Job 8:7 (NIV)

Do not be disturbed or ashamed at your small or humble beginnings. The large oak tree began as a very small acorn. The college graduate at one time began her/his formal education in first grade. The polished basketball player had trouble crawling. The first automobile was a slow, noisy machine before it could reach 100 miles per hour speeds. At one time New York City was home to a few hundred people before it became the residence for more than 8,000,000 persons.

Virtually every person who earned their financial wealth, had very little funds to begin their climb up the ladder to monetary means. A penny is the beginning of a dollar. He or she who is a person of faith report they began small, went through trials then blossomed into persons of strong enduring Christians.


Prayer:

O God, who humbles the proud, and gives grace to the humble: grant us the virtue of true humility, where of Your Only-Begotten Son showed in Himself a pattern for all to follow. Father, I pray we may never exhibit selfish pride that would offend You, but rather by our meekness receive the riches of Your grace to share with those in and of the world. These things we pray. Amen
