Why Do You Complain?

And when the people complained, it displeases the Lord.

Numbers 11:1 (NIV)


Most of us have been told that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. It generally does for a time. However, if it continues to make noise, it is highly likely the wheel will be considered defective and replaced for a new one.

The habitual complainer will soon lose their effectiveness as other will tire of them.

Geese honk, lions roar and some people gripe about any and everything—frankly, it is most pleasant to listen to a flock of geese honking and roaring lions attempting to interact with its flock, pride. As these are attempts to accomplish the task of unification.

Making adjustments to what a person cannot change is much more profitable and advantageous than complaining about it. Those who change and are able to adapt—not complainers—lead our world. Complaining about lousy weather has never caused it to change, but one may change their clothing to adapt to it and remain dry.


Prayer:

Lord sometimes people looking for love and attention by complaining and trying to force their needs on others. Help us through prayer, understanding and kindness the needs of others. Help us also to be slow to anger but approach those who demonstrate this need

Lord help us to give others the respect and consideration that each person needs, without making their demands worse by over-compensating for their misery which might only further cause go further into self-pity or self-centeredness. Help us guide those who complain to realize and to be thankful for the gifts he or she do have. Lord help us to love and to cooperate and to serve in whatever way You desire for theirs and our true good. These things I pray in Your Most Holy Name. Amen
