An Examination of the 15 Specific Cases of Healings/Casting Out of Demons by Jesus in the Gospel of Mark in the New Testament of the Holy Bible

While reading the Gospel of Mark in the New Testament of the Bible, I stumbled across 15 specific cases where the author of this popular book, elaborates plainly about what Jesus said and/or did as he healed countless numbers of people and as he was able to command evil spirit(s) to come out of a person. Jesus is not only Master, Rabboni, the Good Shepherd, the Redeemer, the Saviour, Lord, Messiah, he is MY HEALER and MY DELIVERER. How did he do it? This is the question that intrigued me to search the Scriptures and to help my congregation with their weekly struggles with illnesses and diseases and their lack of ability to break the chains of depression, divorce, sexual addiction, and drug/ alcohol addiction. Yes, Christians are sick, have demonic possession, and can be oppressed with a demon!
The Church must help its members who are fighting a battle against Satan. Jesus said, “Greater things you will do..." The Bible tells us that "All have come short of the glory of God." We all need help, and Jesus is the answer and solution to whatever is lacking in our lives. Let's not be afraid to learn his ways and to teach it to our spiritual leaders and to the flock.

Jesus said," Feed my lambs. Feed my sheep. Feed my sheep." Let us protect and take care of the sheep in the House of the Lord. For they are precious in the sight of Jesus.

Mark 1: 21-28 (New Living Translation/ NLT)
Jesus Casts Out an Evil Spirit (1st Example)

21 Jesus and his companions went to the town of Capernaum. When the Sabbath day came, he went into the synagogue and began to teach. 22 The people were amazed at his teaching, for he taught with real authority—quite unlike the teachers of religious law. 23 Suddenly, a man in the synagogue who was possessed by an evil[h] spirit began shouting, 24 “Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” 25 Jesus cut him short. “Be quiet! Come out of the man,” he ordered. 26 At that, the evil spirit screamed, threw the man into a convulsion, and then came out of him. 27 Amazement gripped the audience, and they began to discuss what had happened. “What sort of new teaching is this?” they asked excitedly. “It has such authority! Even evil spirits obey his orders!” 28 The news about Jesus spread quickly throughout the entire region of Galilee.

Commentary:
In the synagogue on a Sabbath day, an evil, disruptive spirit is in the house when and where Jesus is preaching. Jesus commanded the evil spirit to come out of the man, without the man’s permission or without him coming forward to the man of God. Evil needs to be cast out of the people of God in the house of God. Evil wants no interference!

Mark 1: 29-31(New Living Translation/ NLT)
Jesus Heals Many People (2nd Example)

29 After Jesus left the synagogue with James and John, they went to Simon and Andrew’s home. 30 Now Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. They told Jesus about her right away. 31 So he went to her bedside, took her by the hand, and helped her sit up. Then the fever left her, and she prepared a meal for them. 32 That evening after sunset, many sick and demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. 33 The whole town gathered at the door to watch. 34 So Jesus healed many people who were sick with various diseases, and he cast out many demons. But because the demons knew who he was, he did not allow them to speak.

Commentary:
Peter’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. They told Jesus about her right away.
Tell Jesus about your situation right away. Jesus goes to her bedside, and he helped her sit up after taking her by the hand. Allow God to take you by the hand, and your illness too will leave right away, if it is the will of God. Believe. Then like her, you will be lifted up to continue to do the work of the ministry.

Mark 1: 40- 45 (New Living Translation/ NLT)
Jesus Heals a Man with Leprosy (3rd Example)

40 A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said. 41 Moved with compassion,[i] Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” 42 Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed. 43 Then Jesus sent him on his way with a stern warning: 44 “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy.[j] This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.” 45 But the man went and spread the word, proclaiming to everyone what had happened. As a result, large crowds soon surrounded Jesus, and he couldn’t publicly enter a town anywhere. He had to stay out in the secluded places, but people from everywhere kept coming to him.

Commentary:
A leper goes to Jesus, begging to be healed. He believes that he can be healed. This compassionate healer named Jesus touches the leper’s body, and instantly the leper is healed. Believe in the wonder working power of Jesus; exercise your faith. Seek ye the Lord.

Mark 2:1-12 (New Living Translation / NLT)
Jesus Heals a Paralyzed Man (4th Example)

1 When Jesus returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread quickly that he was back home. 2 Soon the house where he was staying was so packed with visitors that there was no more room, even outside the door. While he was preaching God’s word to them, 3 four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. 4 They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus. 5 Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven.” 6 But some of the teachers of religious law who were sitting there thought to themselves, 7 “What is he saying? This is blasphemy! Only God can forgive sins!” 8 Jesus knew immediately what they were thinking, so he asked them, “Why do you question this in your hearts? 9 Is it easier to say to the paralyzed man ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk’? 10 So I will prove to you that the Son of Man[a] has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, 11 “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!” 12 And the man jumped up, grabbed his mat, and walked out through the stunned onlookers. They were all amazed and praised God, exclaiming, “We’ve never seen anything like this before!”

Commentary:
Jesus is preaching the Word of God to a packed house. Four men wanted to bring in their beloved friend who was paralytic on a mat to be healed by Jesus. There was no way in, so they tore up the roof and lowered him to the feet of Jesus. Jesus saw the great faith of these men. Jesus said, “My child, your sins are forgiven.” Because of the evil hearted teachers of religion who were there, he added (showing his authority to forgive sins), “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!” Jumping up, the once paralyzed man grabs his mat and walks out of the house completely healed. Have faith in God. Come to Jesus anyway you can.

Mark 3:1-5 (New Living Translation / NLT)
Jesus Heals on the Sabbath (5th Example)

1 Jesus went into the synagogue again and noticed a man with a deformed hand. 2 Since it was the Sabbath, Jesus’ enemies watched him closely. If he healed the man’s hand, they planned to accuse him of working on the Sabbath. 3 Jesus said to the man with the deformed hand, “Come and stand in front of everyone.” 4 Then he turned to his critics and asked, “Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?” But they wouldn’t answer him. 5 He looked around at them angrily and was deeply saddened by their hard hearts. Then he said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” So the man held out his hand, and it was restored!

Commentary:
Jesus was in the synagogue on the Sabbath day, when he noticed a man with a withered or a deformed hand. Jesus heals the man in front of everyone for the Sabbath is a day for doing good deeds, and it is a day to save lives. Jesus told the man, “Hold out your hand.” It was restored to normalcy. The Church must exercise its power and authority to restore that which is damaged.

Jesus Chooses the Twelve Apostles Mark 3:13-19
13 Afterward Jesus went up on a mountain and called out the ones he wanted to go with him. And they came to him. 14 Then he appointed twelve of them and called them his apostles.[b] They were to accompany him, and he would send them out to preach, 15 giving them authority to cast out demons. 16 These are the twelve he chose: Simon (whom he named Peter),
17 James and John (the sons of Zebedee, but Jesus nicknamed them “Sons of Thunder”[c]), 18 Andrew,
Philip,
Bartholomew,
Matthew,
Thomas,
James (son of Alphaeus),
Thaddaeus,
Simon (the zealot[d]),
19 Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed him).

Mark 5: 1-20 (New Living Translation /NLT)
Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Man (6th Example)

1 So they arrived at the other side of the lake, in the region of the Gerasenes.[a] 2 When Jesus climbed out of the boat, a man possessed by an evil[b] spirit came out from a cemetery to meet him. 3 This man lived among the burial caves and could no longer be restrained, even with a chain. 4 Whenever he was put into chains and shackles—as he often was—he snapped the chains from his wrists and smashed the shackles. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Day and night he wandered among the burial caves and in the hills, howling and cutting himself with sharp stones. 6 When Jesus was still some distance away, the man saw him, ran to meet him, and bowed low before him. 7 With a shriek, he screamed, “Why are you interfering with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In the name of God, I beg you, don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had already said to the spirit, “Come out of the man, you evil spirit.” 9 Then Jesus demanded, “What is your name?” And he replied, “My name is Legion, because there are many of us inside this man.” 10 Then the evil spirits begged him again and again not to send them to some distant place. 11 There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding on the hillside nearby. 12 “Send us into those pigs,” the spirits begged. “Let us enter them.” 13 So Jesus gave them permission. The evil spirits came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the entire herd of about 2,000 pigs plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned in the water. 14 The herdsmen fled to the nearby town and the surrounding countryside, spreading the news as they ran. People rushed out to see what had happened. 15 A crowd soon gathered around Jesus, and they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons. He was sitting there fully clothed and perfectly sane, and they were all afraid. 16 Then those who had seen what happened told the others about the demon possessed man and the pigs. 17 And the crowd began pleading with Jesus to go away and leave them alone.18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. 19 But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.” 20 So the man started off to visit the Ten Towns[c] of that region and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed at what he told them.

Commentary:
A demon-possessed, terrifyingly insane man known as Legion (who lived among the dead in the country of the Gadarenes) was healed by Jesus. This menace to society who would howl and cut himself with stones and could not be tamed by any man, not even with chains and ropes, begged Jesus to not send them into some distant place. The spirits in the man begged to enter into a nearby herd of swine. Jesus consented, and once inside, the entire herd of about 2,000 pigs ran down the steep hillside and drowned into the lake. The owners of the herd went to tell everyone of what happened, and soon the townspeople and the people of the surrounding countryside, pleaded with Jesus to leave. The healed and transformed man wanted to go with Jesus, but Jesus commanded him to stay and to go home.

Mark 5: 21-23; 35-43 ( New Living Translation /NLT )
Jesus Heals in Response to Faith (7th Example)

21 Jesus got into the boat again and went back to the other side of the lake, where a large crowd gathered around him on the shore. 22 Then a leader of the local synagogue, whose name was Jairus, arrived. When he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet, 23 pleading fervently with him. “My little daughter is dying,” he said. “Please come and lay your hands on her; heal her so she can live.”

35 … messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.”36 But Jesus overheard[d] them and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.”37 Then Jesus stopped the crowd and wouldn’t let anyone go with him except Peter, James, and John (the brother of James). 38 When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw much commotion and weeping and wailing. 39 He went inside and asked, “Why all this commotion and weeping? The child isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” 40 The crowd laughed at him. But he made them all leave, and he took the girl’s father and mother and his three disciples into the room where the girl was lying. 41 Holding her hand, he said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means “Little girl, get up!” 42 And the girl, who was twelve years old, immediately stood up and walked around! They were overwhelmed and totally amazed. 43 Jesus gave them strict orders not to tell anyone what had happened, and then he told them to give her something to eat.

Commentary:
Jairus, a leader of the local synagogue, comes to Jesus and falls down at his feet, begging him to save the life of his daughter who is only twelve years old. Even when others assure the father that there is no need to trouble Jesus for she is now dead, Jesus proceeds to go to the home of the family. Jesus encourages the father to hold onto his faith. Jesus takes the father and mother inside the sick room along with his three of the twelve disciples (John, James, and Peter). Holding her hand, Jesus utters “Little girl, get up!” in Hebrew. Immediately, the girl stands up and walks around, completely healed.
True, strong believers in God can cause a breakthrough in life’s struggles and hardships. However, there is absolutely no room for distrust.

Mark 5: 25-34 (New Living Translation / NLT)
Healing of the Woman with an Issue of Blood (8th Example)

25 A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. 26 She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. 27 She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. 28 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition.30 Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?”31 His disciples said to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’”32 But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. 34 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”

Commentary:
For twelve years a woman had an abnormal menstrual flow. She had lost all of her savings to doctors who could not help her. She said to herself when Jesus came to teach and preach, “If I can touch his robe, I will be healed.” She did, and immediately she stopped bleeding for good. Jesus asked his disciples, “Who touched my robe?” when he felt virtue leave him. The woman tells her sad story. He tells her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”
Though you may be frightened, go to Jesus, even on your knees; don’t worry about the large crowds around him. Get up close to God. Tell him all about your problems. Believe. Jesus heals, and Jesus cares.

Mark 6: 53-56 (New Living Translation / NLT)
Jesus Heals the Sick in the Marketplace in Gennesaret (9th Example)

53 After they had crossed the lake, they landed at Gennesaret. They brought the boat to shore 54 and climbed out. The people recognized Jesus at once, 55 and they ran throughout the whole area, carrying sick people on mats to wherever they heard he was. 56 Wherever he went—in villages, cities, or the countryside—they brought the sick out to the marketplaces. They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.

Commentary:
At Gennesaret, believers in the power of God carried and brought the sick to Jesus. They begged him to let the sick just touch the fringe of his robe. The sick did just that, and when they did that, all were completely healed.
The church should allow the sick to touch Jesus. Bring the sick in wheelchairs; allow the church to visit the sick in the hospitals, in the nursing homes, and in the prisons. Let the people touch the hem of the garment of Jesus. Minister to the downtrodden in their sick rooms. Let them too touch Jesus by sharing the good news of Christ. Let the elders anoint the sick with oil. Let the elders pray for their salvation. Let the sick/ the shut-in/ the imprisoned/ the dying… touch an anointed piece of cloth prayed over by the church (as a point of contact). These cloths don’t heal; only Jesus heals. However, the Bible instructs, “Where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them.” These cloths are symbolic objects where hope in Jesus and faith in God join hands.

Mark 7:24-30 (New Living Translation /NLT)
The Faith of a Gentile Woman (10th Example)

24 Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre.[i] He didn’t want anyone to know which house he was staying in, but he couldn’t keep it a secret. 25 Right away a woman who had heard about him came and fell at his feet. Her little girl was possessed by an evil[j] spirit, 26 and she begged him to cast out the demon from her daughter. Since she was a Gentile, born in Syrian Phoenicia, 27 Jesus told her, “First I should feed the children—my own family, the Jews.[k] It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.” 28 She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children’s plates.” 29 “Good answer!” he said. “Now go home, for the demon has left your daughter.” 30 And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone.

Commentary:
A female Gentile believer in Jesus Christ goes to Jesus and pleads with him to cast out a demon spirit in her little girl. Jesus says to her, “First, I should feed the children- my own family, the Jews. It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.” She replies, “That is true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children’s plates.” He answers, pleased, “Good answer!”
Because she was not offended and understands that Christ wishes to give good things to the Jew first, and because she has great faith in God, (although she is a Gentile) Christ decides to heal her daughter by casting out the demon.

Mark 7:31-37 (New Living Translation /NLT)
Jesus Heals a Deaf Man (11th Example)

31 Jesus left Tyre and went up to Sidon before going back to the Sea of Galilee and the region of the Ten Towns.[l] 32 A deaf man with a speech impediment was brought to him, and the people begged Jesus to lay his hands on the man to heal him. 33 Jesus led him away from the crowd so they could be alone. He put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then, spitting on his own fingers, he touched the man’s tongue. 34 Looking up to heaven, he sighed and said, “Ephphatha,” which means, “Be opened!” 35 Instantly the man could hear perfectly, and his tongue was freed so he could speak plainly! 36 Jesus told the crowd not to tell anyone, but the more he told them not to, the more they spread the news. 37 They were completely amazed and said again and again, “Everything he does is wonderful. He even makes the deaf to hear and gives speech to those who cannot speak.”

Commentary:
A deaf man who also was unable to speak was brought by the people to Jesus to heal. Jesus led the man away from the crowds of people, so that they could be alone. With his fingers in the man’s ears, and later with his fingers on the man’s tongue, Jesus declared, “Be opened!” Instantly, the man could hear perfectly, and his tongue was loosed so that he could speak plainly.
The man’s hearing was completely restored. However, Jesus performed an unusual miracle healing with the tongue which could have offended many people. Jesus spat on his own fingers and placed them on the man’s tongue. Then, the man’s speech impediment was gone forevermore.
Sometimes, you have to be alone with Jesus to get your healing. Don’t complain to God how he will heal you. Just be obedient to his mighty, holy will. Jesus doesn’t always just lay his hands on you in front of the crowds. Allow God to do a new thing on you. Allow him to lead you to wherever he wishes to take you.

Mark 8:22-26 (New Living Translation /NLT)
Jesus Heals a Blind Man (12th Example)

22 When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus, and they begged him to touch the man and heal him. 23 Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then, spitting on the man’s eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, “Can you see anything now?” 24 The man looked around. “Yes,” he said, “I see people, but I can’t see them very clearly. They look like trees walking around.” 25 Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly. 26 Jesus sent him away, saying, “Don’t go back into the village on your way home.”

Commentary:
In this story some people entreat Jesus to heal a blind man in Bethsaida. Jesus leads him out of the village first, and then secondly, spits on the man’s eyes. He laid his hands on the man’s eyes twice before the man sees well and is completely restored. At first, the man saw humans walking as trees. Now, he sees clearly.
Every healing does not happen instantly. Wait patiently on the Lord. Some healings require the sick person to be led out of the crowd to talk with Jesus. Whatever God has to do to perform the miracle, allow God to do.

Mark 9:14-29 (New Living Translation /NLT)
Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Boy (13th Example)

14 When they returned to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd surrounding them, and some teachers of religious law were arguing with them. 15 When the crowd saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with awe, and they ran to greet him. 16 “What is all this arguing about?” Jesus asked. 17 One of the men in the crowd spoke up and said, “Teacher, I brought my son so you could heal him. He is possessed by an evil spirit that won’t let him talk. 18 And whenever this spirit seizes him, it throws him violently to the ground. Then he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid.[d] So I asked your disciples to cast out the evil spirit, but they couldn’t do it.” 19 Jesus said to them,[e] “You faithless people! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.” 20 So they brought the boy. But when the evil spirit saw Jesus, it threw the child into a violent convulsion, and he fell to the ground, writhing and foaming at the mouth. 21 “How long has this been happening?” Jesus asked the boy’s father. He replied, “Since he was a little boy. 22 The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” 23 “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”24 The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!” 25 When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil[f] spirit. “Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak,” he said. “I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!” 26 Then the spirit screamed and threw the boy into another violent convulsion and left him. The boy appeared to be dead. A murmur ran through the crowd as people said, “He’s dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet, and he stood up. 28 Afterward, when Jesus was alone in the house with his disciples, they asked him, “Why couldn’t we cast out that evil spirit?” 29 Jesus replied, “This kind can be cast out only by prayer and fasting.[g]”

Commentary:
A man brings his son who is possessed with a demon first to the disciples, but they are unable to cast out the demon. Now, the man brings him before Jesus. The boy is vexed with a demon which is trying to kill him, and it throws him violently to the ground, twisting and rolling, right before Jesus. In times past it has thrown him into the fire, and even into the water. The father pleads with Jesus to do anything to help, if he can. Jesus questions the statement, “If I can?” This man does not know with whom he is dealing. If he only knew that Jesus was the Messiah of the world, he would not have made a statement like that in the presence of the Healer of the world.
The father asks Jesus to help him overcome his unbelief. Jesus responds, “Anything is possible if a person believes.” Jesus forcefully orders the spirit which makes the boy unable to hear and speak, “I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again.” One final time the angry demon inside the boy throws the boy into a violent convulsion, and this time the boy foams at the mouth, grinds his teeth, falls to the ground, but becomes stiff. The onlookers think the boy is dead. But Jesus takes the boy by the hand and helps him to his feet. The lad stands completely healed with no more demonic convulsions.
The Church must stay in strong, faithful prayer and in fasting to order to cast out these demons from the people.

Mark 10: 46-52 (New Living Translation / NLT)
Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus (14th Example)

46 Then they reached Jericho, and as Jesus and his disciples left town, a large crowd followed him. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road. 47 When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus of Nazareth was nearby, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 “Be quiet!” many of the people yelled at him. But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said, “Tell him to come here.” So they called the blind man. “Cheer up,” they said. “Come on, he’s calling you!” 50 Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus. 51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked. “My Rabbi,[j]” the blind man said, “I want to see!” 52 And Jesus said to him, “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road.[k]

Commentary:
Jesus of Nazareth was passing by the blind man named Bartimaeus who was just sitting beside the road near Jericho. Bartimaeus yells loudly, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” The people tried to quiet him, but he yelled again even louder. When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said, “Tell him to come here,” Then Jesus asks Bartimaeus, “What do you want me to do for you?” Bartimaeus responds, “I want to see!” “Your faith has healed you”, spoke Jesus, and instantly the man could see.
Be persistent when you wish to be healed. Be persistent when you want Jesus to answer your prayer. Don’t give up and don’t quiet down, because others tell you to. Call out to Jesus, and believe in your heart that today is your day for a healing from God.

Mark 16: 9-11 (New Living Translation /NLT)
Healing of Mary Magdalene (15th Example)

9 After Jesus rose from the dead early on Sunday morning, the first person who saw him was Mary Magdalene, the woman from whom he had cast out seven demons. 10 She went to the disciples, who were grieving and weeping, and told them what had happened. 11 But when she told them that Jesus was alive and she had seen him, they didn’t believe her.

Commentary:
Jesus does not explain how he did it, but he healed Mary Magdalene, a great follower of Jesus. She loved God! He cast out seven demons from her. She was a faithful follower. Even after he was crucified and buried in a borrowed tomb, Mary Magdalene was the first to see him when he had arose from the grave. She told everyone the good news. They did not believe her. However, she kept sharing the good news, that Christ is risen. She was a true disciple. She continued to follow Jesus, as you and I must do each and every day of our lives. Glory to God! Praise ye the Lord! The Bible teaches us in Luke 7: 47 of a similar character, “Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.” Mary Magdalene had a lot to be grateful for!

Application/ To Think About...

Jesus said he was called to care for the sick, not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners. We must be honest about our sickness and come out of it, willingly, with the help of Yeshua.
We must follow Jesus as his disciples did. The disciples and church leaders must tell the people to repent of their sins and turn to Jesus. The disciples have been given the authority to cast out demons and to heal the sick.

With just five loaves of bread and two fish, we too like Jesus can fed five thousand. Jesus gives us the ability and the authority to maximize our potential to do much with little if we are faithful and submit unto him. All things are possible. There is nothing too hard for God. We must believe this through great faith in God. Our God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly all that we can think and ask. Glory to God. Glory to his holy name.

We serve a God who walks on water. He said, “Don't be afraid. Take courage. I am here." Do you believe it? Then, receive it in Jesus' holy name. Be not afraid. God will be with you in your finances, in your relationships, in your professions, and with your family. Trust him and take your eyes off the water and the waves.

With seven loaves and a few small fish, Jesus goes on to again feed thousands. This time he feeds five thousand. They ae left with seven baskets full. You too can have an abundance remaining. Include God in everything you do. Tithe, give to God what rightfully belongs to God. Don't rob God. You can never be successful robbing the Master. He knows all and he sees all. Give so that there will be meat in mine house...and in your house, as well. Trust God. He never leads one astray.
Turn from your selfish ways and be not ashamed of Jesus and his message of hope and salvation for the world.

In turn, you will find health and healing in your body and in your household.

Live in peace with everyone. Even though someone's philosophy is somewhat different than yours, thank God they still call on the name of Jesus. Thank God they too call Jesus, the Saviour and Lord. Allow God to deal with them. Go on professing the name of God and doing God's work in this earth.

When a man leaves his father and mother, and is joined to his wife, the two become one. Let no man separate this union that God has joined together. God hates divorce, and God hates adultery. Divorce is obviously necessary in cases of abuse and infidelity in the marriage. However, God created marriages to be healthy and everlasting.

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven. Take up your cross and follow Jesus. Following Jesus requires you to give up much worldly things, but your reward of eternal life is so much better and richer. You will be rewarded in heaven and on earth. Do not lose heart if you are persecuted and mocked. Follow Christ. Be of good courage. Christ has overcome the world.

Give money to the poor. Follow the laws and commandments given by the Father, creator of the universe. Love your neighbor. Love the Lord with all your heart, your mind, your soul, and your strength.

I will leave you with this powerful Scripture from Mark 16:15-18 (The Great Commission), one of my favorites, 15"And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. 16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. 17 These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages.[e] 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”
