There Is No Wealth Greater Than Happiness

Happiness is the hidden wealth this poor, troubled, cynical world has ever known, more valuable than all of the gold contained in vaults worldwide, or the largest diamond ever mined.

Happiness is far easier to locate, if we keep in mind that the best things are nearest to us: the pulse in your veins; your eyesight; your ability to hear; the air that envelops your life; the water in your local reservoir or coming to you through your well; family and friends in your heart; and the path of God through the gifts of prayer and Sacred Scripture for your feet.

Happiness is ever present and does not require much effort to find but can provide peace, joy, hope and sleep for the weary; and if happiness does not, neither would power, intelligence or wealth so many yearn for.


Prayer:

Almighty Father, send the Holy Spirit to enliven my spirit to give me happiness and joy in my most troubled times. Help me to put what troubles and saddens me into Your Hands for with You nothing is impossible. Let me live my life in peace, joy and happiness all the days of my life knowing that periods of trial are to strengthen me to prepare me for what is to come. These things I pray. Amen.
