The following letter was recently discovered in my box of papers and long forgotten but I thought it would be a good thing to record it for the benefit of those to whom it may concern. I usually date my letters but this letter had no date on it. I am guessing that it was written around the summer of 1973 after or during my travels with my foster parents Bev and Bill Clough to Hayward, Wisconsin to visit Bev's mother.


Dear Mother

I'll be looking forward to seeing you. I love you and miss you very much. How are you doing? Fine I hope. I receicved your letters and enjoyed reading them. I didn't like where you said "forget Vada your grandma." Well she's still my grandma. I love her and grandpa just like I do you. Don't write back mother because I won't get it in time before I leave. I know God is watching over you mother so keep reading your Bible and go to church with grandma. It's make you feel better. I love Bill and Bev just as you said. But things aren't going right. You wouldn't want me to live in a home that used God's name in vain all the time. Bev is alwasy getting drunk and smoking. That's why I am leaving the Cloughs. I'll be closing now.
