A unified Church.

John 17:20-21 KJV

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

This is the last prayer(as well as a type of benediction) of Jesus for the Church - those who believe in Him.

Jesus made it very clear He wasn't only praying for the disciples but "for them also which shall believe on me through their word...". That means you and I.

Doesn't it surprise you that neither Jesus nor any of the apostles established any named church(es)? Doesn't it surprise you that Jesus and the apostles focused mainly on preaching the 'Good News' - the gospel of salvation instead of law-based doctrines and theology based on customs and traditions of men?
Doesn't it surprise you that Jesus kept His message very simple and elementary - "Ye must be born again" instead of bamboozling us with rhetorics and jargons?
I mean if Jesus came to show us the way to the Father, wouldn't He have setup and endorsed a particular denomination if denominations are part of that way?

The early christians didn't operate in denominations rather they gathered in manageable groups in different cities but under the same teaching - different apostles but SAME teaching.

Today what we have is a disintegrated body. Disagreements, discriminations, segregation, and divisions(sometimes even on the basis of race, colour, background, and class) are the characteristics of christianity today.

A body can only function when every part is homogeneously joined together and acts as ONE. Jesus recognised this truth hence the prayer for oneness in John 17:17.

Galatians 3:28 KJV
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

So am I suggesting we do away with church(as in church organisations and denominations)? Am I suggesting we all worship under the same building or name?

John 4:24 KJV
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

If we worship God in spirit and in truth then it is very possible and easy for every christian to worship as one and in unity. Anything that hinders such unity is not of God and so is of the devil.

There is ONLY one Holy Spirit and if we all claim to have It then we will all speak same, do same, believe same, expect same and live same.

A united body is invincible but a divided body is already defeated.

Are you on the Lord's side or are you cheering for your local church?

Ephesians 4:5 KJV
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Permit me to add One Hope.
