God's Word Is Not Hard, But Helpful

Many believers of Christ say God's word is too strict, too many rules. But I say to you, God's commandments are not grievous, they are not oppressive, nor offensive. They are helpful in guiding us and keeping us on a straight and narrow road in a dark and perverse world. They are helpful in providing us with the tools to successfully live a life pleasing unto a Holy God. They are helpful in leading us to, and through the gates of heaven, a strait gate of which we all must strive to enter – “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able” (Luke 13:24).  

God's word is only grievous to those who are not willing to devote themselves to Him, who are not willing to let go of the things from their old life, and who want to live by their own rules, so that they can continue to gratify their flesh. Christ's shed blood not only brought redemption for our soul, it also brought freedom to live in Him according to His will, without restraints or strongholds. There is now nothing holding you back from doing as God wills for your life - EXCEPT YOU!  

God's word, if followed is guaranteed to keep you on the path which leads to life. The path where no good thing will be withheld from those who walk uprightly, who walk in accordance with His word – “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly” (Psalms 84:11).  

If you are struggling with following what God requires of his people to live a holy life, talk to Him about it. Ask Him for strength to conquer the desires of your natural man, so that your spiritual man can be free to devote himself to living for Him.
