Think Before You Speak

We've all had our share of times where we have either been hurt, frustrated, discouraged or sick. But nothing is worse than while you are under these dark clouds, to have someone who is giving you words of encouragement, instead have made you feel worse. Has this ever happened to you? On top of that, the words they spoke had nothing to do with what you were going through, they were the wrong words in a right now situation.

The tongue is a very powerful source in that the words which proceeds out of it can heal or hurt, set free or keep in bondage, encourage or discourage - "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof" (Proverbs 18:21. So, if you have not been appointed by God to this calling, you could make things worse, or the damage could be deadly.

To speak the right words at the right time, is to have the intelligence under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, to understand the occasion for which a right now word is needed. Not everybody has this anointing.

Before you open your mouth to speak a word to a person who is in a bad or discomforting situation, think before you speak. Better yet, make sure this is a calling for which you have been anointed by God to do. Remember, this is not about gaining personal praise or a pat on the back. This is about speaking the right words in a right now situation, that could possibly lead to saving a life.
