When it comes to the material things of life, we all have something we can claim as being "mine." But, nothing in life is really yours if it can be taken away. The only thing no man can take from you is God. You may have lost some things, but you still have God - He is yours and you are His. That's an assurance, and that's a part of you no one can ever strip away. 

You see, it is not until you have lost some things in your life, when you come to realize that it was Him all along who was the source of your joy, your happiness, your everything. It was He who kept you and held you, even sustained you. When you made Him yours, He filled every void. 

He is the main reason for your existence, the main reason why you can shout now, even when the battle isn't over - the main reason you still have something, when you have been stripped and left with nothing - the main thing you'd rather have than silver and gold. 

Many people seek after wealth and pleasurable things to make them happy. But these things are uncertain, for tomorrow who knows what it will bring? But the man who has made God his main portion in life has something beyond and more valuable than the things in this life - an inseparable and non-perishable treasure.
