I like the fact, as we are told in First Corinthians chapter one verse 30, that it is of HIM that we are in Christ. As important as our capacity to choose surely is, that is not what initiated our passage into and within Christ our spiritual ark, it was the prompting of His sovereign grace that energized our choice. That is what has established us securely and solidly in Christ for all time and eternity.
If it was done in the strength of my decision, what is to say I wouldn't change my mind at some later date and decide differently? I am glad I don't have to wonder and carry such questions in my" backpack" through the years of my earthly pilgrimage.
