Alone in my car, windows rolled up, I was loudly singing God’s praises. Suddenly it felt as if my mind had been hacked, and a question suddenly formed there - what about love? I shook my head. What? The question made no sense. I was praising God - why would he ask me about love? Wasn't it obvious from what I was doing that I loved Him?

I could only draw one conclusion. It didn't feel like love to God. Yet rather than express his anger or disappointment, he only asked a simple question, knowing I could figure it out, which I did. I realized a vital ingredient was missing from my noisy praise – love.

Since we are made in God’s image that means in some way God is a person, like us. And like us, he wants to be genuinely loved, to see it and feel it. How is your life a reflection of your love for God?
