Life is like living in the midst of an approaching storm,

This I news that I find very hard to hear and to inform.

As the last thing on anyone’s mind is for a storm warning,

Especially, when you wake up in great spirits one morning,

Than hours later, you sense a storm will soon pass through.

And you’re scared and uneasy about what you should do.

Even though, you’re bound to see many a storm cloud come.


Turn to Jesus, before you lose hope, He’ll help you overcome.

The storm clouds that come and give you strength to go on,

Look in His Word and find messages of hope to call upon.

As the winds blow, causing you to lose sight and try to grope,

For the blessed light, with a prayer or verse just a step away.

Hoping you’ll turn there, before the pain slowly tries to sway.

You farther and farther into the midst of the storm so near.

Lean on His strength only and claim verses you hold so dear.


We will always be tried and temped to react wrong to a cloud,

As Satan’s sneaky trick questions and ideas ring ever so loud.

That doesn’t mean we should give in and be meanly swayed.

Over our hearts we should put a very protective light shade,

So you know when he’s about to catch his unexpected prey.

Please don’t let him get at you and ruin your entire day!

Just, become aware of the calls of warning all around you,

When, storm clouds approach this is what you must do!


Run into the shelter of your Heavenly Father’s embrace.

To be sheltered securely and touched with amazing grace!

That kept you as the storm tried to suck you deep within.

Run to God each time the storm draws near and you'll begin,

To see what a shelter in the storm our great God really is,

When the storm clouds are drifting closer in...
