The Importance Of Loyalty

And you know that with all my might I have served your father.

Genesis 31:6 (NIV)


Those who are loyal give those they support their unmitigated support. They are true in word, faithful in deed, devoid of hypocrisy, free from betrayal; and when the weak kneed sell out, it cannot be bought.

When recognized, loyalty is still so appreciated that the world treasures one ounce of it more than a ton of cleverness and sarcasm.

Whatever relationships you have that demand loyalty, be true to them. If someone hires you to work for her or him, work for her or him—in fact go the extra mile! If your employer supplies your meat and potatoes for your table, you supply devotion and dedication. As long as you work at a place, do the job beyond good! Do it well! Give your employer your undivided service! If you cannot be loyal, leave!


Prayer:

Almighty God, grant us Your gift of loyalty. Especially so when it is difficult to do so. While with us, You demonstrated the greatest example of loyalty to Your friends when they abandoned You to torture, crucifixion and death. Let Your actions of forgiveness and restoration of loyalty be our guide with the help of the Holy Spirit when loyalty for us difficult to do for us when we are hurt by others we put trust and loyalty in. We ask these things. Amen.
