The third chapter of Ecclesiastes provides a meditation about life and learning to wait for God's timing. Verse 1: "For everything that happens in life there is a season, a right time for everything under heaven."(Voice)

I always refer to this verse when I am waiting for God to answer a specific prayer. If too much time goes by, I think maybe God didn't hear me or maybe my prayer didn't make it through the proper divine channel.

Two years ago I was offered a job that was the perfect fit for me, at least for awhile. When the job became too physically demanding, I started praying I could leave this job, and return to my first love of writing. I set several goal dates to give my notice, but it never seemed the right time, and I began to feel very discouraged.

Three months ago I decided to set one more goal date, but things were different this time. Circumstances were coming together that would allow me to still contribute to the family income, and I began to get very excited.

The day I gave my notice, I was scared to death, but I knew God was with me and leading me back to a writing career. I just passed the one month mark, and looking back I can see how God's perfect timing was best.

So, don't give up if you think that God doesn't hear your prayers. He is just working things out in His perfect timing.
