KEEP MOVING

In Deuteronomy 1:6; the Lord spoke to Moses saying that the children of Israel had stayed for too long in the mountain and had to disperse from the camp and start moving. When I was learning to ride a bicycle, I was told to keep riding and increase my speed lest I began to lose momentum and fall. And I learnt it the hard way because I would stop riding and soon the bicycle could no longer support my weight on its two wheels and I would fall. The movement is what keeps the bicycle from falling!
When I was learning to swim, I was told to keep kicking, and every time I stopped kicking I would begin to drown. However when you are moving, initially there is a lot of resistance and as long as you keep moving there is some momentum that is gained and it is that same momentum that one can ride on.
There are a lot of catchy encounters on the way, some even detracting you from accomplishing what you had intended to do and ultimately settling for less. The children of Israel where promised a land flowing with milk and honey and also full of wild fruits; but as they were sojourning, they found fertile lands around certain mountainous areas and they began to settle for those. These ‘veiled’ their minds to settle for whatever was before them and were no longer eager to explore the promises ahead of them.
God reminded them to keep moving until they have reached their Promise. What is it that you started and along the way you ran out of steam? What is it that you were in pursuit and you got hold of something that was a compromise to what you wanted and began to settle for it? Keep moving and do not rest until you have finally reached you destiny. God bless.
