LOOKING BEYOND

“Young man look beyond the nose and anticipate every move you make”- these were the words spoken my flight instructor during my flight training course as he taught me the basic skills of maintaining a safe and balanced flight.

Perhaps it is worth noting that; for you to maintain a clean flight path, you do not have to look inside the cockpit when you are flying manually and not on autopilot. When looking outside that is- beyond the aircraft nose, you have adequate reference and you can maintain the desired attitude. You have ample time to steer the airplane away from other flying objects without endangering your life or that of others.

However this is only achieved when looking outside and not at the nose! When looking at the nose you only realize your flight phase when it is time to act and this makes the individual to be behind the aircraft. He starts becoming reactive rather than proactive. You seem to react to what the nose seem to be doing.

Consider life to be like a flight profile, if you cannot look beyond your nose, you will only plan and act in the now and have no long term plans. This makes an individual to operate on feelings and what they see. This leaves one without consistency in whatever they are doing and your life “profile” not looking clean.

You need to look beyond your nose and focus on lifetime plans as this will help you in becoming an individual who is always ready for any challenges that may rise. You will see troubles as they come and you will be ready to overcome by the time you reach to those hurdles. God is like the instructor teaching you on how to go about life. Read through His Word and get learned.
