GROWING UP

While I was a child I admired grown up people as I watched the privileges and prerogatives that they had. I was oblivious and naïve of the harsh conditions that they were exposed to. However it is not sin to desire growth and the bible tells us to. Growing up as a child there are very little or no challenges at all but as maturity is attained, more and more challenges begin to crop up.

One day I looked and studied a tree that had grown at the corner of a car park. I realised that the concrete slab around it was broken and loose and no longer level anymore. It emerged that the tree fought its way below the slab until it found its way between the slabs and the first leaves began to sprout. To the visual eye it looked like the tree had just started growing but from underneath the slab it had traversed through for about half a meter.

When growing up, you will hit the concrete slab with your head but you should not stop there because you can still negotiate beneath the slab until you find a gap to the surface. Become a strategist as you grow to overcome whatever situations that present themselves around. The challenges that keep increasing in your life are a clear sign that indeed you are growing.
