LUKEWARM

The Church of today … Has been known to arrive
It is in the final stage … True believers run and hide
It’s neither hot nor is it cold … Lukewarm is their condition
As they pray for more gold … Blind to the solution

In need of not a thing … Is what they believe
As they righteously sing … Their tears to be seen
As they lift up their hands … Their jewels on display
The music from the band … Designed to amaze

They refuse to accept … In wretchedness they’re blind
And in total they reject … That they’ll be … left behind
This is not God’s house … The way ‘twas meant to be
In vomit from his mouth … Is its destiny

From deep within your heart … Is where it must come
The true Church will depart … And be joined with God’s Son
The price to be paid … Was a torturous death
And then down he was laid … For a temporary rest
And then in three days … Death was defeated
As he was raised … We now wait to meet him

Lukewarm left behind … Their faith put to the test
The truth now they must find … And pay the price instead
