Autumn Leaves
Today I walked among the leaves
Of gold, red, green and brown
And as I stooped to pick one up
My mind just raced around.
Why must these pretty little leavaes
Grow ugly and turn brown?
And as I went to bed that night
I tossed this thought around.
I woke up early in the morn
About 5 a.m. you see
For I had to have an answer
To this question puzzling me.
I thought how God had formed these buds
So perfect on the tree
And in due time which took awhile
They sprang forth brilliantly
The purupose of the leaves you see
Is to glorify the tree
And once their task on earth is done
They then become brown leaves.
So too, our lives are much like leaves
We're born, then blossum and die
But none of this has been in vain
If God we glorified.
