Be Ye Perfect

Mt 5:48
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.


The Lord Almighty enjoins us to be perfect in all our endeavors as He is perfect. Because,

We are made in His likeness and image to have dominion over all creation.

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. Gen 17:1

Look at the instruction given to papa Abram and it is one in righteousness to us also to walk before our God and be perfect in all our ways.

Be ye perfect ...teleios..gk, or tamiym..hb, means ...complete, ...full, ...perfect, ...entire, ...integrity, ...without blemish, ...sincere, ...sound, ...without spot, ...undefiled, ....whole, ...upright.

In other words this is God's expectation for us to be without blemish or spot or be undefiled.
How sincere are you in your walk of life and in the sphere of contact?

And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine. Lev 20:26

By the complete sacrifice of Jesus and by the shedding of His blood without spot and undefiled, He severed you from all other people and He paid in full for your ransom. That is,
Ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Cor 6:20

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: Col 2:10

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Tit 2:14

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 2 Pet 3:14

Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. Ps 119:1

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. Jam 1:25

So tell Jesus ...
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Ps 139:23-24

In all our pathways we are admonised to be sincere and walk uprightly before God. Uphold your integrity and let your light so shine before men. Be ye perfect.
