The Love of Christ Constrains us

2Co 5:14
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

The love of Christ surpasses all understanding. For His love, He delivered up himself for our ransom that we might have peace with God.

The Love ...agape...gk, meaning ...affection, ...benevolence, ...love, ...dear, of Christ is shed abroad in our hearts and is given to all humanity.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jn 3:16

By accepting this benevolence of Christ we will not perish but have life.

The affection Christ has for us constrains ...sunecho...gk, meaning ...to hold together, ...to compel, ...to preoccupy, ...keep in, ...be in a strait, us to also love.

That love of Christ compels us also to love even our enemies and pray for them.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Mt 5:44

The love of Christ in us which flows to our sphere of contact will keep us in or protect us from the hatred that is in the world.

To be in the strait race mark out for us, it is the love of Christ that will preoccupy us in this race till we win the ultimate, heaven.

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 1 Cor 9:24

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Heb 12:1

The love of Christ constrains us in this world of hatred to let love which is the greatest weapon to lead us in all our endeavors.

Without love you will be bitter in this faithless world. Love first and second and third. Love always!

Jesus asked Peter, Do you love me? Three good times before giving him a responsibility. Because it is the love for Christ first that will overflow to other people in your sphere of contact.

The perfect love of Christ in us cast out every fear that is in the world.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. 1 Cor 13:13
