St. John 17:3: Jesus says and this is life eternal that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent.
The bible says Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith. The Word of God also states that Jesus is the end of the law for righteousness for all who would believe.
Many people say they know God but in their hearts they reject Jesus. In the old testament the children of Israel knew of God via the law that was given by Moses. The law was given by Moses but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. It is important to note that you can’t know God without knowing Jesus Christ because Jesus Christ came from God. The bible says all things were made by him and for him and without him was nothing made that was made.
Religion and relationship are two different things. Most people through religion, think they know God but you can’t know God and not know Christ. The Catholics believe they know God through the virgin Mary, but Mary was also a sinner and she needed to be saved as well. The black Israelites believe they are the ancient Hebrews of the tribe of Judah. These men practice Judaism as many Jews, who think they know God but deny him through their denial of Christ. I call these men are the black Pharisees of the bible who crucified our Lord in heart.
Jesus didn’t come to destroy the law but to fulfill. The old testament foretold the coming of Jesus Christ in the new testament. The new testament fulfills everything that was prophesied by the holy prophets of old. Jesus came in the volume of the book, it was written of him.
Jesus answered the Jews, If I honor myself, my honor is nothing; it is my father that honoureth me of whom ye say that he is your God: yet ye have not known him; but I know him; and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you; but I know him and keep his saying. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day and he saw it and was glad. Then said the Jews unto him, thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, verily, verily I say unto you before Abraham was I am( St. John 8:54-58).
Based on the above scripture, Jesus Christ came from God and is God.
Look at what the Apostle Paul says in the book of Phillippians: and be found in him not having mine own righteousness which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith( 3 verse 9). Check out the next verse: The Apostle Paul says that I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings being made conformable unto his death(v.10).
If the world knew God as they say, they would show the Lord’s death. They would embody everything that says Christ.
In conclusion, the word Christian comes from the name Christ. If we know God like we say we do, we must know Jesus Christ because Jesus Christ came from God. Amen.
