All Confidence
(The words of a music artist)

Many people are disappointed in me
They say I should have made it
That I have to make it
Make it?
Make it to where?
No matter how fast I run or how far I go, this life will still end the same
I will eventually die
Or should I rather say live?
Yes live!

So, what is there to do?
Since yesterday is gone and tomorrow is now known
I only accede to Today
The Day He has set apart long ago
Then, what is left except for the time in between?
And if I should run during, as so many do
Into nothing but a drained definition of no more than contemptible desire
Then I will miss what is now and forever at my side
When you travel at high speed you see nothing but a blur
Gain becomes loss and accomplishment fades to haze
I tell you in all confidence
This is then the best place for you to begin

And after all is lost
And the right road you now walk upon speaks your name
As was so yesterday,though you did not answer
Is still so in Today, which is your persistent tomorrow
Loss for truths sake will be the definition of your value
Until all that is left is the remnant of one certainty
Only the Word of God stands forever!

So this day I exclaim
In all hope and without fear
This will be my goal
My concluding focus
My sole purpose

If music is first in my life, then I am as lost as if my aim was fame or money
Only what the music says and why it was spoken to me posses the right to claim its influence
When it opens a door
Opens an ear
Opens an eye
Only then does it harbor meaning
The source is my worth
My identity
My God
My Savior
Our Jesus
