We Will Be (a song of marriage)

Hidden in front of me
Unseen through the blindness of my own heart
Caught in a net of worthless searching
Choice was abandoned as I walked away
Desire is a fools game, falsifying need for want
Dare I say "I love you"
Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks
But how can you speak of love when your heart is selfishly tainted
Emotion was all I was capable of
And so absent was my goal
Deficient was my soul
And to be alone again was my end

But now God has made His voice clear
And He shines a light through her that gently guides me to her side
The steady warmth of this cannot be mistaken, nor would I dare to appease
My Lord
I know your hand and I distinguish your touch
Thank you has left my lips to you so many times
However those words seem stale in the face of such beauty
I love because you first loved me
So I now take that love and pass it on
And broken together is where we shall remain
Until death briefly separates us only to be reunited in your arms forever more

I will not discard choice this time
I will not desert sight
As you have chosen me Lord
I will choose her
As you will never leave me
I will stand by her
As yours is forever
So will mine be
As you love me
I will love her
In love
In your Son
And forever we will be
