He Has Given Me Two Gifts

Each morning I am given a gift.... the gift of a brand new day.... it is like a plain white box that Jesus hands us first thing in the morning, and then encourages us to fill it up with the things we love most.

I would put in wildflowers.... tiny bits of color that lift your spirits just to look at them...rainbows and starlight to lend their light.... the sounds of waves lapping the shore, and faint music in the background.

I would put in children's laughter and their sense of wonder...the smell of freshly-mown grass and fireworks in the sky...and then Jesus tells me to wrap the gift in love and give it away.... for love is meant to be shared.

I give my box of favorite things to you, my love, and when you open it, you will know that these are also the things you have given to me.... you bring me flowers to color my day.... rainbows of promise and the gentle glow of starlight wrapping me in their light.... the peace in the sound of waves...the joy of music and laughter...all wrapped up in love - and I realize all over again, that He has given me two gifts...one is His love, and the other is you.
