Poetry
You might remember that children's prayer from long ago when you were a tiny tot. It went something like this: Now I lay me down to sleep; I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. I learned this when I was a young boy of perhaps 6 or 7. I am not sure who taught it to me but perhaps it was my dear mother. She once bought me a children's Bible story book which I will always cherish.
Below is a short poem I thought up early this morning that a child or an adult could learn and recite with profit.
Cleanse me Father, cleanse my soul
Cleanse me Father, make me whole.
Take my sin and wash me clean
Grant me pardon, no guilt seen.
