I once saw the neatest thing in a store and was thinking of it this morning...it was a square shallow wooden box on a stand, and the box was filled with white sand...and on the sand was a variety of little objects.... pretty stones, tiny seashells, a little starfish...which you could arrange however you liked...and it came with a miniature rake, so you could smooth the sand and make designs in it...I always wished I had bought it when I saw it, but the budget would not allow...but that box reminds me of our love.....

God has given us that small piece of sand as a backdrop to our days...it is full of uncountable bits of grace that He gives us each day to get thru the bumps in the road...it is a reminder that we are a part of the bigger picture He is making, and He gives us the freedom to place whatever we like on it...there would be many of the pretty iridescent stones strewn at random around the sand...so one is always there to touch and see.... those are the reminders of our love...pretty and all around us....but strong and solid too.....there would be lots of tiny shells too.....tucked in the sand, and lining the edges....for all the moments of caring, the tender words....the glances and touches that speak love more than words....that are strewn throughout our days, and surround us ......and each time the sand got disturbed, we can take the little rake of encouragement and forgiveness, and smooth away the rough spots, and make a new design in the sand....and the wonderful thing is ...there are unending ways to re-design our little sandscape.......all beautiful.....each one different and unique....painting a new scene of our love....the wonder of it.....the pure joy it brings.....the peace and contentment that makes us rich beyond measure.
