To my husband:
I woke up this morning with the words to the song "You're Love Is Deep" on my mind.... and it occurred to me that Jesus was the One who gave us a model of love, if we would only apply it to ourselves.... and this song illustrates it so well.

Our love is deep...not superficial...it runs through the fibers of our being, it is part of us, and can't be separated out.... and each day it gets a little deeper, so that we will never be able to reach the bottom, and say that's all there is...it is inexhaustible....

Our love is wide...wide enough to cover all our shortcomings.... it is like a blanket of grace flung out over our little mistakes, words not said, words said in haste, the little omissions and commissions that are part of every relationship...but this wide blanket melts away the urge to make them more than they are...it fades them into the background fabric.... and their importance fades also in the glow of our love.

Our love is high...and the further our hearts soar with our love for each other...we will never reach the top.... there will never be a point where we can't grow any more, discover more, experience more...God has made our love a never-ending sky we can fly in..... with ever more clouds to dance on.... in the sunshine of our love.

Our love is long...it stretches ahead, filled with promise, with the adventure of ever more things to do together.... to clasp hands and follow God's path together.... each moment is wonderful to savor...a treasure to keep.... a lovely memory to recall...a together-ness that grows stronger with every step along the path...and over it all...Nothing can separate us from our love...or us from the love of Jesus...and this is the shining promises that make each day golden and a treasure beyond counting.....with Him, and in each other....we are complete.
