My Flesh Is A Mess (and I glory not!)


I sin without thought even though I am conscious,
My habitual sin leads to spiritual unconsciousness.
Sin after sin leads to death after death,
I glory not because my flesh is a mess.

The thing that I would not is the thing that I do,
I told myself often this sin thing is through.
My flesh is a mess and a mess is my flesh,
My flesh is pieces so my flesh is a wreck.

The lord through is His Word said my sins are atoned,
But it seems like my flesh has a mind of its own.
In this flesh dwelleth no good thing,
Crucify the flesh for the misery it brings.

The flesh can`t be tamed so therefore it must die,
Once dead but it seems like it came back to life.
The Lord said stop falling for the same trick,
Sinning against God is making my soul sick.

Oh how I wish that this sin would leave now!
To do good I would but the evil I allow.
When I got saved I thought everything would change,
I`m redeemed by His blood but the sin issue remains.

In the mind of the flesh I sin everyday,
His mercy it keeps me and so does His grace.
There`s a war going on and the war is within me,
The law of God is Spiritual, the carnal mind is enmity.

Just when I said that my sinning would stop,
My flesh is a mess and I glory not.
