When a soldier is put out on the field
he must be assured he has the right gear
For the battle he is facing requires it so
and there leaves no place for fear

As soldiers of God we need our helmets
for it is Salvation upon our heads
Wear the brestplate of righteousness to cover
the heart
when the evil all around us spreads

We need the shield of faith in this fight
to fend off darts of fear and doubt
And the sword of the spirit which is the word
that will lead and guide us out

Our feet are covered with the Gospel of Peace
boots that can trample on any kind of ground
So wherever we go, we won't be defeated
for the word of God is safe and sound

You see the weapons we use is not carnel
we're not wrestling with flesh and blood
But by the spirit of God that lifts up a standard
when the enemy comes in like a flood

Some battles will come just like a storm
hitting us, from east and west
And at times even from the north and south
but, whatever way, it's only a test
