“Remember The Covenant” (Be Ye Faithful)

The Word Covenant has a very important meaning to us a Christians. It signifies our relationship to the father through Christ Jesus. A covenant is a written agreement or promise usually under seal between two or more parties according to the Merriam-Webster`s Collegiate dictionary. In other words, a covenant is a contract. As Christians, our relationship to God is not just a contract it is a lifetime commitment or a life sentence. I believe that God places a high importance on covenant ship. Part of our existence on earth is to stay in daily communication with God in order to live a victorious life on earth. I believe that God calls the covenant a form of faithfulness. Our heavenly father wants people who are faithful and will remember his covenant.

Take Muslims for example. They are so faithful to that Allah stuff, they will even blow them selves up for something stupid, and give glory to a so-called god name Allah whose real name is Satan! I do not mean to disrespect them, I love them they are still God`s people who just went astray. Our commitment to God pleases him very much. No matter what happens in life we are to remember the covenant. Look at Romans 8:35. Apostle Paul says “who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

He continues in verses 36-39, as it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long. We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that first loved us. For I am not persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Those verses say it all. Throughout the bible the word talks about covenants.

Originally God formed his covenant with Adam and Eve, but sin caused them to lose it. It also brought the curse into the earth. We also see in Genesis 9:11 that God established his covenant with Noah after the flood. The Lord said “And I will establish my covenant with Noah after the flood; and I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall any more be a flood to destroy the earth and God said, this is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. God is a covenant keeping God so we should be covenant, keeping children.

As we know, God`s covenant keeping promises are greatly expressed with the children of Israel who were a rebellious people. In Exodus 2:23-35, the scriptures say “And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage and they cried. Their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage; and God heard their groaning. God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Issac, and with Jacob. God looked upon the children of Israel and God had respect unto them.

In the Old Testament the Ark represented the covenant of the Lord. The commandments that God gave Moses were the words of the covenant between God and the children of Israel that they were to follow. Our covenant is called the blood covenant because Jesus shed his blood for the sins of the world. His blood is our redemption from death to life. Our covenant and salvation with God is priceless. David was a man after God`s own heart. David remembered his covenant. First Chronicles 16:15 tells us, "Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations". Amen.
