“If You Were Really Persecuted, Would You Forsake The Righteousness Of God?”

St Mark 14:27 says and Jesus saith unto them, “All ye shall be offended because of me this night: For it is written, I will smite the shepherd and the sheep shall be scattered. Verse 50 says and they all forsook him and fled. My question to Christians is if you were really persecuted would you forsake the righteousness of God?

Here in St mark 14 verse 29 we read, “But Peter said unto him although all shall be offended, yet will not I. Verse 30 says, And Jesus saith unto him, “Verily I say unto thee, that this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. But he (Peter) spake the more vehemently, “If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Like wise also said they all. When Judas Iscariot the betrayer came with the high priest, the scribes and the elders to take Jesus the disciples forsook him and fled. In Verses 67-72, the maid of the high priest saw Peter and said Thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth. But he denied saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew. He denied Christ again, and they said surely thou art one of them and thy speech agreeth thereto. But he began to curse and to swear saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak. The second time the cock crew. Peter called to mind the words that Jesus said unto him, “Before the cock crow twice thou shalt deny me thrice. When he thought thereon, he wept.

I wonder how many of us would stay with God when the going gets tough. I think about the Christians in countries like China, Indonesia, India and many other second, third world nations and read how they are persecuted all day long. Some of our brothers and sisters are being martyred as we speak. Our sisters are being raped while the families are forced to watch! It is happening at the hands of police officers and/or prison guards. Understand that the government and local officials allow this to occur! This reason for this is because these nations are anti-Christian. I have read stories that Bibles have been burned and churches bombed by Muslims. Families have also been deported from their own country of citizenship! Preachers have been thrown in jail with very little food to eat or clean water to drink. Some Christians are forced to work in concentration camps under the same conditions.

I am not against Muslims, Hindus or Buddhist people etc. I love them too, but I am against the spirits that seduces them into religion and away from the living God.

I have never suffered anything like this but I write because I care and know that our brothers and sisters are suffering like this. I am by no means an expert on this. I also feel that Christians worldwide need to know this and pray for them as well as send financial support if possible.

What if America was a Muslim nation? Although there are Muslims and Hindus etc we should be so happy to know that America is blessed because she was originally dedicated as “One nation under God”. America is blessed to be a blessing. Now America could face the wrath of God because she will not repent and believe the Gospel. So what would American Christians do if extreme persecution existed here as it does overseas? What would we do if our “way of living” were taken away? What would we do if we suffered a food shortage because we were Christians and forced to work in concentration camps with little or no breaks? What about having only one pair of shoes and one suit? Perhaps being tormented day and night all in an effort to get you to denounce your faith?

In some nations, the only way one can buy or sell is if he or she is NOT a Christian. Sounds like the tribulation period has already begun. Believe it or not, these things do go on in other nations. We as American Christians must not be so focused on our own needs and ignore the needs of others. God is concerned about the whole world. Being a Christian is not about us, it is about Christ. St. Matthew 5:9-10 says “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye when men shall revile you and persecute you and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. So again, if you were really persecuted would you forsake the righteousness of God? God forbid. Amen.
