Dear Lord, as evening shadows fall
And humbly on my knees I fall
I lift my voice in praise to thee
My Lord, my God, my Prince of Peace
I thank thee for days now past and gone
For precious memories that linger on
For family and friends that brighten my day
For the light of your love to guide my way
Now as I close my eyes in rest
Father I pray that I've done my best
Should I not awaken from my sleep
I pray dear Lord my soul you'll keep
Til that grand and glorious day
When I shall see you face to face
How glad will I forever be
With you throughout eternity
