Psalms 100
1. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. 2Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Today as we are preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving Day, I can't help but wonder if we are truly a thankful people. The book of Ephesians chapter 5 verse 20 reads, Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the world in which we are living today there are so many tragedies, catastraphes, and the uncertainty of what the future holds it may be somewhat difficult for us to feel that thanksgiving spirit. But this is the time we need to get our minds off our circumstances and place our trust in the one who has the whole world in his hands. That one is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who has promised he will never leave us nor forsake us.

THINGS FOR WHICH I AM THANKFUL
I'm not rich in houses or land
But I'm rich in the love of my family and friends
I may not have a home of my own
But thanks to my family I don't have to roam
I may not have designer clothes to wear,
But thank you Lord, I have enough to share
The food on my table may not be the elegant kind
But peas, cornbread, and potatoes suit me just fine
I'm warm in the winter, cool when it's hot
I'd rather think about what I have, than what I have not
I have a wonderful Savior who loves me I know
For he died on the cross a long time ago
Giving his life that I might have mine
Nogreater love could I ever find
There's coming a day when we'll meet face to face
I'll bow down and thank him for his marvelous grace
But until then, while here on this earth
I want to thank him that from the time of my birth
He's always been there for me through good times and bad
He's the dearest friend that I've ever had
Thank you Jesus
