A BLIND MAN DYING
As the blind man lay dying
No family no one to care
In a hospital he stay laying
No final words he can share.
As the nurse stood by waiting
It made her think, that could be me
I haven’t lived yet she so stating
I spend my time helping you see.
With all his worldly possessions
Everything could fit in a box so small
Nothing that would leave impressions
Only small tokens not important at all.
More sad is when there is no one there
Who cares or when the time comes cry
He didn’t have anyone to say a prayer
Sad he didn’t do better, he didn’t lie.
The blind man laid there dying
With no warning he passed on
Only the nurse left now crying
To heaven his soul has gone.
Left to wonder what life is about
Is this really all or is there more
The nurse her life she began to doubt
Time for me to grab life and explore.
Death is a very personal thing you know
When the time comes we all die alone
We’ll be judged heaven or hell we all will go
Our sins before God will be known.
She decided while there was still time
To live life to the fullest and to love
To die alone would be a terrible crime
She asked God for love that is above.
