A TIME OF FEAR

What shall we do in time of fear?
Is danger or help in hopes ray?
Unfamiliar is music to the ear,
A quite voice calling dies away,
Lost and troubled, afraid and alone,
The fear was theirs of the unknown.

A cry of mercy arose from those there
“Jesus help us, save our soul,”
“Hear our pleas, here this prayer,”
Deeper the troubled waters roll,
Mercy above an answer came,
I will save you without any shame.

A stranger passing by that night,
For rescue he was a saving sight,
“Come this way, the path straight,”
Troubled travelers now great,
To them back on their merry way,
Thank the Lord for another day.
