God has granted the United States a great deal of freedom in the last 236 years. This freedom has been extensive in several realms including religious, political, economic and educational. We find ourselves as a nation that professes allegiance to God (we still have "In God We trust" on our coins) but it is without any real meaning. Prayer is offered in the U.S. Congress but then laws that are anti-Christian and unBiblical are passed every year making a mockery of the Christian God. So one has to ask just who is this "God" that we supposedly trust in and that is written on our coins?

The moral law of God, that is, the ten commandments use to be echoed from our pulpits by Bible believing Christians who taught sound doctrine (Titus 3:1) but today with the false teaching of antinomianism the law has been cast aside and disregarded as something unclean. It was understood that this moral law was given to the prophet Moses directly by Jehovah under the Old Testament. It has never been done away for Jesus said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." Matthew 5:17

Is it any wonder that jurisprudence is on the decline and that injustice is seen everywhere? You see without God's law we have little or no justice only man's law based on his view of what is right and wrong.

U. S. Supreme Court Justices such as Joseph Story (1779-1845) and John Marshall (1755-1835) use to read their Bibles so as to be able to judge righteously the many cases that came before them. Today I doubt that any of our Chief Justices pay much attention to what the Bible says because if they did they would know that Biblical doctrine is of God and must regulate every area of life and thought. They would also know there is no such provision in the U.S. Constitution for a "separation of church and state." What the founding fathers were against was not a state religion because each of the colonies had an organized state religion,for example, Virginia was Anglican as was New York but Massachussets was Congregational as was New Hampshire. What the colonies were against was a national church that governed everybody the same way that the Church of England governed England.

In the colonies and in the post-colonial era, it was the Bible that was seen as the supreme law of the land. The Puritans believed this. I'm not so sure the founding fathers really believed this. The U.S. Constitution while it is an important document comes in second place next to the Bible and today interestingly enough both of these writings are under attack by the humanists. The Bible is seen by liberals as containing the word of God but it isn't in fact the entire word of God. If this is the case then we are left without any ultimate authority or absolute revelation to govern the mind of man and society. Apart from a Biblical faith what is left is an insidious humanism which is hell bent on destroying the foundations that our godly forefathers established.

"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? Psalm 11:3

Economics is in disarray because Americans have rejected a sound Biblical economics for a humanistic one that John Maynard Keynes foisted upon us. Keynes was a Fabian Socialist and homosexual who devised a money system that creates booms and busts in the economy. He hated the free enterprise system because it was based on the Christian idea of private property
and that a man had the right to work and save from his labor.
The idea of theft presupposes the right to private property or else the eighth commandment "Thou shall not steal" is meaningless.

But Keynes had no regard to God or Biblical faith. His understanding of finance and money were throughly humanistic. Keynes was an advocate of government intervention in the market place. Thus theft by government became entrenched as part of his thinking. His policies and teachings have come to be known as "Keynesianism". Much of our financial problems have been exacerbated as a result of his thinking. Most of our major universities today teach Keynesian economics rather than Misean thought so named after the great economic thinker Ludwig Von Mise.

It is my contention that the political and economic realms are fallen into disarray because the church of Jesus Christ has not always been faithful in proclaiming the gospel nor in opposing the many false teachings including humanism which has arisen and broken out like a rampant disease infecting every area of life.

Just as humanism governs the thinking of godless unbelievers so Biblical faith is to govern the Christian believer in God. Unfortunately the Christian must live under godless leaders who advance their humanistic ideas rather than embracing Biblical ones.

For the Christian every area of his thinking must be brought into captivity to the Lord Jesus Christ. This is what Holy Scripture commands. We read in 2 Corinthians 10:5

"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."

Individuals are changed internally first by the gospel and then the externals of that person conform to that inward change by putting everything under the Lordship of Christ. If Jesus Christ is Lord then He is Lord over all areas of life and thought and not just the religious realm so that political theory, economics, history, education, music, science and all else are brought under the authority of Christ and his word.

A culture such as America is changed for the better when individual sinners are converted to Jesus Christ and made to prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2) This is called being born from above, being washed from your sins and being regenerated. This is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit.

If the internal is causative to the external as Holy Scripture teaches then the gospel as Paul teaches us in Romans 1:16-17 is the solution to changing hearts and minds:

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith."

It is the just who live by their faith which has graciously been given to them by the Lord Jesus Christ. Apart from this faith we can not please God. Hebrews 11:6 This faith works by
love in every area of life because it has eyes, feet and hands to work and build both in the material and immaterial realms.

What is a post Christian America? Simply this: It is an America where God is no longer seen as the supreme and sovereign ruler of all areas of life.

Could it be that the reason we have a post Christian America today is that God is giving men up to their sins as the many false gospels permeate and inundate the various churches and religious circles of this once great country?

The American culture is dying and becoming more and more pagan. The idea of America as a sovereign country is under attack by global forces determined to destroy this independent republic and turn it into just another country perhaps third world in nature as the middle class is destroyed with only the rich and poor classes existing. This was the dream of Karl Marx.

Communism sees a new man emerging under the chaos of revolution. This evolutionary vision and political state without God's law will be governed by man's law as salvation is in terms of a totalitarian state. This is statism pure and simple. The current form of government is akin to Mussolini's fascism but we could call it economic fascism or corporatism. Under this type of structure the Federal govermnet gives certain priviledges to the major corporations not allowed to small businesses.

Americans are increasingly losing their freedoms granted under the United States Constitution. When the Christian faith flourished it was seen as vital and necessity was layed upon preachers to vigorously proclaim this faith as it relates to every area of life and thought.

We owe so much to the Christian faith.

For example did you know that the Salvation Army and YMCA were started by Christians who were transformed by Christ and the American culture was a beneficiary to this radical change within? Today it is common knowledge that the YMCA is a hangout for homosexuals to gather and pick up other homosexuals who fit their ideal of masculinity. Indeed, as the Village People sang their popular song back in the 1980's "it's fun to be at the YMCA."

What is a culture anyway? A culture is really religion externalized. When the religion that dominates a society
is humanism then we can expect this chaotic evolutionary thinking to overturn values and law in favor of a new social
order that relishes revolution instead of regeneration.

Could it be today that fewer people are becoming saved and experiencing the transforming power of the Holy Spirit in regeneration wherein dead souls come to life in Christ, experience forgiveness of sins by repentance and embrace the whole of written revelation (the Bible alone and in its entirety) by the faith of Jesus Christ?

Could it be that many false converts have infiltrated the local churches because Satan has sowed tares among the wheat with a man-centered message masking as the true gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ?

In classrooms across America we once had children bowing their heads in prayer to the God they knew had formed them in their mother's womb. Now we are told it is a violation of the separation of church and state for children to bring Bibles to class or for teachers to even allow a "quiet time" of prayer for those students wishing to give thanks or adoration to God.

Why in God's name are professing Christian parents still sending their children to public or state controlled schools to be taught the doctrine of devils? The excuse that is often given is that they have no time but this is not acceptable with God. God expects fathers and mothers to teach their children and to sacrifice their time, energy and money to do so. This is having Biblical faith. It is what God requires if we are to be recipients of God's kingdom.

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

In addition the Lord expects parents to teach their children well in morals, (right from wrong) and everything related to Biblical faith. There's no reason to exclude science or math or history or geography or grammar. These subjects can be taught today using many helps such as teacher's manuals, CD's DVD's and the internet. Technology makes this possible at an affordable cost. Tutor's can be hired if necessary where the parent may be insufficient in specialized knowledge after their children's advancement in years.

Teaching is fun and quite rewarding and who better to teach children than the parents whom God used to bring such children into the world.

Education is a serious but necessary function of the family. As headmaster the father is the priest over the family. Each believer is a prophet, priest and king under Jesus Christ who gives us this threefold ministry patterned after Himself.

The long slide into humanism must be met head on first with the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

Humanism is a doctrine of devils. Both Humanist Manifesto I (1933)and the Humanist Manifesto II (1973) were written by ungodly men void of Biblical faith in the true and living God. The faith of these men was no less religious than the faith of true believers in Christ but it was faith in man as his own god who would bring about a new man through evolutionary change. Thus a paradigm shift has taken place over the last century bringing about what some would consider the final apostasy or falling away from the faith.

The second advent of Christ is impossible to predict though many have tried to their own shame and embarassment. I do not believe anybody has been given that secret information based on Deut 29:29:

"The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law."

Parents must teach their children well as the old 60's song puts it.

Imagine, once we had no public schools (children were homeschooled or attended private or Christian schools) and America progressed in all areas of culture because parents took seriously the responsibility to educate their own children as commanded by the Lord. (Deut 6:6-9)

Today in most churches across the land children from supposedly Christian homes are enrolled in the godless public schools to be indoctrinated with values clarification and situation ethics among other anti-Christian teachings.

Some teens will tell you their pastors or Sunday school teachers never discouraged them from seeking out a secular education with the justification that their degree would be considered of greater value by their employers if they obtained their degree from a secular university than a degree from a Christian university.

Now the public schools have become state controlled and operate much like established churches across the country teaching the religion of humanism. The hypocrisy is rife in the U. S. Congress that meets in Washington D. C. (District of Criminals) where both Senators and Congressmen know emphatically that the public school system is promoting humanism via the average social studies curriculum.

Is this not an establishment of religion that is allowed to operate with tax payers money?

Unlike the Christian faith which must never be taught in public schools lest the liberals cry foul in violating the so called "wall of separation", humanism is allowed to go almost unchecked throughout America.

Back in the 1960's a lady once pointed out to the late Robert Kennedy who was then the Attorney General of the United States that the public schools of America were teaching humanism which is a religion. Mr. Kennedy agreed but said he wasn't going to do anything about it. If this lady wanted to take her case to the Supreme Court she could but Mr. Kennedy wasn't going to accomodate her. In the 1960's it might have cost about $250,000. Today it would be considerably higher with a purse of perhaps a few million requisite to prosecute the Court. This is beyond the purse strings of most Christians.

The Bible says, in Psalm 1:1-2

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night."


The above scripture tells us the blessings of avoiding ungodly counsel. We must take this seriously. There are far too many professing Christians seeking advice from the wicked, that is to say, from the ungodly who do not love the Lord. Why would a
Spirit filled man or woman seek out advice from somebody void of the Holy Spirit? Does this make sense? We must seek out godly counsel from those who obey and love the Lord Jesus Christ and who love the brethren. Through prayer and meditation on God's word the Bible along with those who are born into God's Kingdom are we to take advice and counsel.

Sex education is taught in the schools with the full blessing of the humanistic Planned Parenhood. This organization publishes pro-choice (read pro-death) propaganda and provides ungodly counseling to women. Thus it is not surprising to find on the website of Planned Parenthood the following:

Abortion is a safe and legal way to end pregnancy.

It may be legal but it is NOT safe according to many medical experts such as Dr. Bernard Nathanson director of the 1984 documentary Silent Scream. He has shown through ultra sound the killing of a live fetus through an instrument called "the suction cannula". This instrument is described as a lethal weapon that will "dismember, crush, and destroy" what Nathanson refers to as the child.

Perhaps Planned Parenthood thinks their propaganda and lies are a necessary form of educating today's young women to the options of having an unwanted baby. We'd be wise to remember what God says in Proverbs 12:10,

"A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel."

The tender mercies of the wicked are never more manifest when the advocates of humanistic thinking favor the killing of the unborn. This human sacrifice is part of the ritual in the ever evolving mindset of lawless rebels who set themselves against God and his authoritative word in favor of their humanistic rationalism. Man then becomes his own god doing what is right in his own eyes and following a way that seems right to him "but in the end are the ways of death." Proverbs 16:25

Humanism is the belief that "man is the measure of all things." Instead of creation being taught the ridiculous idea of evolution was resurrected from pagan cultures. The idea of evolution didn't start with Charles Darwain. Long before that reprobate who denied his Christian upbringing came on the scene ancient peoples like the Babylonians and Egyptians and Greeks held to some form of evolutionary thought. Evolution is a product of ancient religious and philosophical thinking with no scientific basis for support.

Perhaps the thinking of humanists is best summed up in the 1973 Humanist Manifesto signed by such men as Aldous Huxley author of "Brave New World". In this document which is really a religious creed without a revelation by a sovereign God you will find such quotes as "No deity will save us; we must save ourselves." Thus in this document we have the denial of eternal redemption through Jesus Christ the Son of God for a salvation by self. Through chaos will evolve, given enough time, a new man fit for a New World Order with politically correct doctrine which modern man is rapidly screaming and scrambling to implement upon society.
