Awake Out Of Sleep

As I tried to sleep this morning I was awaken by the Lord to do His bidding. He said that the Church is asleep and it’s time for us to wake up and hear what God has to say. As well as hear God wants us to do what He says and not man. Some of us have entered into contracts that God is not pleased with. Some of us have sold our souls to men for position, place, and notoriety. Now because we have done this we are sluggards, one that is habitually lazy. As long as we are doing what man says we feel we are okay; but not so!

Proverbs 18:9 he also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

The soul of the sluggard desires to have but have nothing. The way of the sluggard and slothful man is as an hedge of thorns; good for nothing. Slothfulness cast us into a deep sleep as one that is controlled by another to the point that they can’t think for themselves or no longer hear from God. We have become slaves again to a master that don’t have our best interest at heart. An idle soul shall suffer hunger. We are so hungry because we have become relaxed in our spirit. We throw out stuff and hide our hand. We are told if we say anything they will know it was us because surely they will say you are the only one that knows; lying all the time. If a talebearer tells us something please know that they have told others also. They can’t help themselves they don’t have nothing to keep them interesting other than a tale. They are faultfinders and can’t see themselves in the mirror. Are we garbage disposals for man’s junk? Or are we living epistles for Christ?

We are in spiritual apathy and inactivity. Too many are idle or just plain lazy for the cause of Christ. Jesus said we are to go, but we stay in the house. We are so heavy with sleep or other things we have lost our vision and direction. There is no longer an ample supply of the Word in our arsenal. We have depleted the Holy Ghost to the point where He is tired of us. We have become drunk off of the wrong things. We no longer speak the Word of God; we use our own words to get what we want. Usually a lie is attached to that word to get what we want. We become misleading. In the beginning was the spoken Word; something happens at the Word of God. The Word man gives is only a scratch at the surface and uneatable. If it is uneatable it does not have the proper nutrients to feed the soul. Why are Saints dying in the Church today? The Word preached is full of mess and not digestible. God does not deal in mess; nor does He have anything to do with sin. The Church of the World is full of sin. We are slothful in God’s business and have become lazy sluggards.

To stay in the confines of God’s Word we must know what the Word is saying and obey it. This keeps us safe from becoming slothful. We will be hated like sin when we become servants to sin. All of us are tempted when we are drawn away of our own lust and enticed. Don’t let the enticing words of man’s mouth draw us into their control. God says He will have no one before Him; He is a jealous God. We are drawing people to us rather than God. God is angry at the people that call themselves Christians. Who are we that we can match wits with God? Come down my brother, my sister. We are asleep in the hole of pride. We have gotten so big we can look down the nose and put others in hell. We call unclean the things that God made clean. We need to consider our ways. God said for us to oversee and guide others to Him; so why do we become the ruler of their lives?
Proverbs 12:24 the hand of the diligent shall bear rule; but the slothful shall be under tribute. He will not cook the food after they have attained it. A slothful man will get a new pair of shoes, get them dirty and will not clean them. The slothful always think someone owe them something. The slothful will put down everybody else that tries to do something. If they aren’t doing it, then it’s not right. They will drive away the Saints and pull to them the lazy. The lazy won’t show them up. We have a charge to keep and a God to glorify; be careful of our acts, words, and deeds. The slothful throw a ball and hide their hand. The hand of the diligent makes us rich but the hand of the slothful is slack. This means that we have failed to receive of the Lord the proper nutrients to keep us afloat. The Word like everything else departs us if we don’t keep it up and do it.

Leaders have the rule over us but not to the point where they want you to do what they say when they are wrong. God’s going to charge us for what we don’t correct that we know is wrong. God has wanted to use some of us to save a City but because we are so worldly minded we are moved by what we see. The sluggard will not plow in the under developed regions of life but they will stay where it is comfortable. The slothful will beg because they refuse to labor. They will not come and pray in a setting with other believers unless they start the prayer and they will keep others from coming to prayer service. Since they will not pray you know they don’t study the Word of God. They take their messages from messages they hear on television because they are lazy. Then they are the only ones right in the eyes of God; pride have taken control.

The things we as Christians pay attention to is in most cases is the things we too had to fight. By much slothfulness we decay and through idleness of the hands the house drops through. If we do not win souls and the members are dying off we will be the cause of the Church dying. If the watchmen are blind and ignorant dumb dogs that cannot bark then the house of God will decay. The Word will leave the body sleeping, lying down and loving the slumber. What happen to soul winning? What happen to Jesus sending us out two by two to win the lost at any cost? The hand of the diligent shall bear rule. We have to awake out of sleep. We are to be fervent in spirit serving the Lord; not slothful in business. We take the Lord’s business for granted. We treat God’s business with no respect. If we don’t feed the Spirit of God in us how do we expect Him to live? If a man doesn’t work he should not eat. We run to the Church for man to see us but we have not fed our soul any food between service times. The Spirit man is starving so He cannot eat properly when the Word goes forth. Just like a hungry child in a classroom trying to listen to the teacher but his stomach is empty and growling; so the Spirit man.

We the people of God is habitually lazy. We want everyone to do what God has called us to do. Solomon said in Proverbs 24:30-32 that he went by the field of the slothful and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding and lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down. Then I saw and considered it well; I looked upon it and received instruction. The slothful will not appreciate what they have. The slothful will not care for what they don’t appreciate having. The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason. The slothful will allow things to go undone as long as he gets what he wants. You can put a million dollars in the hand of the slothful and he will only waste it. God put man in the Garden to dress it and keep it. He put man to work. He gave him six days to work and one to rest. The soul of the sluggard; desires to have but has nothing; and they will not work in the cold. The man brought to poverty through laziness only wants to sleep. No one wants to go soul winning when it is cold or when it is not profitable for them to be seen. If the land be tilled properly then the results is plentiful.

How we rule the flock is another area in which we sleep. There can be a lion at the door and we will not block them from coming in and devouring the sheep. We have become poor in the area of salvation so that poverty comes as one that travails in a robbery. Poverty steals our goods we have previously set aside for the work of the ministry. We become wasters rather than overseers of God’s goods. Proverbs 21:5 the thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want. We can’t just spend God’s money anyway we want to. If we are diligent in God’s business we will stand before kings. If we till the land and win souls to Christ we will be a laborer in wisdom, knowledge, and in equity and will always have a plenty that we continue to observe not be idle.

Awake out of sleep, study to be quiet and do our own business and learn to work with our own hands as God has commanded us. Why? So that we may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that we may have lack of nothing. Why? So that we walk not disorderly among men and that we are not being busy bodies in other men’s affairs. Why? So that we will provide for our own household and not deny the faith, that we be not an infidel. Why do we want to awake out of sleep? I Timothy 5:13 withal they learn to be idle wandering about from house to house, and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? Or what shall he give in exchange for his soul? Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him which is able to destroy the soul and body in hell.

Wake up Saints! Awake out of sleep! This is the will of him that sent me; that everyone which see the Son and believe on him may have everlasting life; for God will raise us up at the last day. Jesus is the resurrection and the life; it is He that through patient endurance continued in the work set before Him to bring salvation to those that were living yet were dead in trespasses. If we also awake out of sleep and continue in well doing as we seek for glory and honor and immortality we too will gain eternal life. We have to though first be made free from sin and become servants of God and have our fruit unto holiness and then at the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Flesh and blood though cannot enter or inherit the kingdom of God. Jesus showed us the mystery of immortality that we shall not all sleep by we shall be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Awake out of sleep. He that sows to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Jesus has taken the sting out of death, seeing then we have hope. Godliness is profitable unto all things having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. We can’t go there if we are asleep. We cannot fight the good fight of faith if we are asleep outside of Christ. It’s time to lay hold of a good foundation in Christ who have saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. We have a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Wake up and know eternal life.
