How Can We Go On
With The Record That Follows

Second Chance, what’s that in the United States? In Louisiana? Over the last six months I have talked to young men that stand or just lay around the house or streets all day. Many have been incarcerated or been to jail and served time. Mostly drugs and at a time in their young life and it’s hard for them to keep a job because of the record that follow them. When will they be given the chance to prove themselves worthy when for six or seven months they work and do good and bang; they are shot in the head with the news that their background check came in and they have to let them go. Where is the Second Chance? Life is what it is; all of us have a background good and some bad we just didn’t get caught yet.

A second chance is supposed to mean that I did wrong but I am willing to get it right. A second chance is giving someone the opportunity to earn a righteous living. It’s a time to give our own the same consideration we give to the immigrants and other people of different races. They come into our country and work, pay no taxes, own businesses for five years without paying any taxes and get food stamps that they fill their shelves with to sell to others. A US citizen goes to jail, get out of jail, can’t get a job and if they get one they pay taxes and gets fired when their rap sheet comes in although they are doing a wonderful job and feel good about themselves. Where is the second chance when they really didn’t get a good first chance? Life sucks to them and I am inclined to agree with them that some of the laws in the US and State Government is unreal. Over the past five years I have experienced many injustices because of laws made by men that have no experience at the life they negotiate about.

A second chance is killed with the pettiness of the law. There are so many secondary things that are trivial even to our employers. They actually find good workers and lose them on a technicality. The unimportant things disrupt the flow of their business because of all the things put on hold because of what have derived. We need to subsequently do something to make these people dependent on themselves for their needs rather than the government or their families. Our Country is suffering, losing tax money, and putting out more than they need to. All the jobs are already pretty much by interstate means. We have more subsidiary companies in foreign lands than should be. The United States need to be more considerate in the second chance people receive. Rather than encourage them in their future, they keep the past before them where it blocks their path at a second chance. Who will take care of us when we can’t take care of ourselves in the next ten years? Wake up America! How can we go on, when our record follows us?

All of man’s sin will be found out. All the things that have been hidden will be revealed. All dark and mysterious deeds will come to the forefront; can you take it when it arrives? The occult, mystical, clandestine, underhanded, stealthy things of a man’s past will also began to surface. Some should have been in jail but it’s just like they are because they have to live with themselves. Who is going to take care of us when we are older? Who will fight the wars for us when China decides to attack the United States? They have already planned their attack; they have more businesses than we think set up here. They have made alliances with us that is not really pure. Their plan is to rule the world. They lost a battle with the United States years ago but they vowed that they would not lose the war. They have hit the United States with weapons from the babies on up to the adults. There is a war going on but we just don’t know it. When we wake up it may be too late. Keep on keeping man down and helping them to throw away their lives. What has happened to the once family structure that was strong? If my children can’t work and your children too is denied what’s going to happen? If we don’t put nothing in their heads why should they think? There is nothing to think about because the mind has be programmed for nothing. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing. It’s time to pull these young men off the street and put them in a solid job. It’s time to stop denying them to work by means of a technicality.

Second Chance is what I had thirty years ago when I went to work for the State of Louisiana. I told them I had gotten in trouble with my husband and others that sold drugs and I had been put on five year probation period for being an accessory to the crime. Mr. Roy told me I am willing to give you a chance. Not only that but after I had worked ten months he recommended me for a permanent job and I had been working every since. My livelihood was never threatened after I started working, but my ability to learn was challenged and I promoted time and time again without the degree that I never received. Please rethink that law that deny people that have been incarcerated the right to have a job. God Bless!
