As a believer in Christ Jesus, you know He lives in you since the day when you asked Him into your heart. But do you realize you live in Him as well? I don’t mean you just try to walk in His way each day. Ephesians 1:23 says as you are part of His church, the fullness of Christ. Jesus, who fills everything with abundant life is filled with you as part of His many-membered body. The word fullness actually means that you, as a Christian, supplement Him. Of course we know God is already complete in the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross.

Nothing can be added to it or taken away from it. However, who Jesus is making you into daily, as you become conformed to the likeness of Christ, is a result of His sacrifice and directly satisfies and finishes the work He came to do here on earth by paying for your sin. As believers, we are encouraged in the book of Ephesians to be ready for Jesus’ return for a church without spot or wrinkle as our hearts and minds are transformed and renewed into a child of God who walks in the righteousness of God daily.

First Corinthians says you were bought with a price and are no longer a slave to sin, but a servant of God. Therefore you become a part in the great commission to share the good news of Jesus with others. The word fullness we talked about also means in the original language to fully preach! Since you are called as part of the fullness of Christ, it’s through you He will spread the word, His Word.
