If you want to help youth then you have to discern their attitudes through a communication process.

By communicating with youth you discern their attitudes and you discover that the conflicts they are experiencing is usually a result of a breakdown in relationships between their mother and their father their brother and their sister or their peers.

You'll notice that these conflicts, everybody's conflicts, originate from three sources.

1. One, between them and God-their verticle relationship. If this is misaligned then usually there is a conflict on the horizontal level which is between man and nature, circumstances, things around them. It could be the weather but this is getting on a different level- and then

2. Two, there is conflict between man and man, (this is a sociological level or another horizontal relationship) or

3. Three, there is conflict between man and himself (an inner psychological conflict)
Unless men and women love God they can not truly love their neighbor.

By discerning where these breakdown in relationships occur communication becomes more meaningful. By probing and by asking questions youj can discover these conflicts.

Communication becomes more effective when you have clear steps of responsibility taken, ACTION, can then be given to that individual for re-establishing broken relationships.

Another aspect of effective communication is by looking at illustrations from scripture, studying the basic principles, the life, the biographies of the children of God and Biblical characters, through your personal experience and through the personal experience of other individuals.

So you want to look for sections of scripture that can be used to relate to each area of conflict.

There are other ways of going about effectively communicating with youth but these are some ideas I wanted to bring out that might be helpful to you.
