I often remark about the excellent character of the wife of my youth referred to in these articles as The Great Blonde. One of my pastimes is to get a conversation going attempt to get her boat floating or the southern equivalent, her motor running. I have concluded that this is an exercise in futility as she is too well read and always has a zinger that carries the day.

I was kidding her about no women having reached the pinnacle of fame so high as to have their likeness placed on United States paper money. Here is where her education paid off with a rifle shot right from the hip back into my face. "Larry, Ivy Baker Priest, former Treasurer of The United States said, 'We women ought to put first things first. Why should we mind if men have their picture on the money, as long as we women have our hands on it.'"

My advice is that men who want to appear brilliant should never marry an intelligent blonde. Actually a man who marries any brand of woman should know as Solomon states in Proverbs 19:14 "House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD." He also said that finding a wife is a good thing. In truth a man is to love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it, puts a real load and opportunity for a meaningful life pleasing her as Paul said.
