Lord hold my hand, as I walk through this land
that's barren dark and cold
Let me not fear in whatever's near
but help me to stand bold

Though there be thorns and thistles
on this Christian route
And at times, toil and troubles
but faith in you will lead me out

Now though this road may not be easy
I will have my cross's to bear
But I'll look to the hills which cometh my help
for you promised to be there

My feet are planted on a solid rock
such a sweet Savior you are to me
Who makes it possible to accept this walk
and there is nothing hid from thee

You said let not my heart be troubled
but to depend on you each day
To help lighten the loads that I carry
because you have paved the way

For me to get to heaven
and each step is all mapped out
So I will rejoice in all my suffering
now O'soul you can't help but shout

For the victory song is promised
if I endure and continue in the race
And just keep my lantern forever filled
and to accept what I have to face

Help me be clothed with your righteousness
let my heart settle on things above
And help me keep a light in this purchased vessel
and most certainly filled with love

Now we have this hope in earthen vessels
while traveling through this land
For we are built on the promise's of God
and our souls are in his hands
