Breaking The Samson Ties

A man asked me the other day if I have any victories against "giants" lately. I assured him that my record against giants is much better than that of the Patriots. I seldom come against giants standing between me and the Lord's will as expressed in the Word.

Vance Havner perfectly described the battles I lose on a regular basis. Dr. Havner said, "I am sure that the Devil has no more effective device for crippling preachers than to tie us up, as Delilah did Samson, with a thousand little duties until they are reduced, as Samson was, to a treadmill and the Spirit of the Lord has departed."

Preachers are not the only creatures that are all tied up with multitudes of little duties the modern phrase being minutia. Due to the fact that Samson had forfeited his anointing with the Spirit he was unable to overcome the vexing of Delilah. Judges 16:16 "And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;"

You know the rest of the story. When any person discovers the 20 percent of their activity that produces 80 percent of their reward if they are wise will abandon to others the 80 percent that only produces 20 percent. Every busy person should study up on this principle.
